ODD-based testing:
A proof of concept on cyber-physical testbeds
Ideation workshop held in collaboration between ASAM and IAMTS
May 13, 2024 | 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm CEST | Online
The increasing complexity of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Automated Vehicles (AV) necessitates a robust and standardized approach to testing and Validation. A key part of this is the use of testbeds, whether the environment is real, virtual or a mix thereof. ASAM and IAMTS (International Alliance for Mobility Testing & Standardization) have joined forces to promote the development of a standardized workflow for cyber-physical testing on testbeds. The goal of this workflow is to enable the mapping of test requirements from customers to the available features of proving grounds and the services of test service providers, thereby minimizing the overall number of tests required to ensure sufficient testing for Homologation/type approval purposes.
To tackle the task of detailing this workflow, we aim to leverage the strengths of both organizations and their membership. ASAM’s key expertise lies in facilitating the exchange of data through standardized APIs, formats, and protocols. IAMTS is more strongly oriented towards the application for testing, particularly regarding cyber-physical testing. With these two organizations working together, we are in an excellent position to establish a robust process that fosters trust and confidence among OEMs, regulators and other stakeholders.
As part of this joint initiative, we would like to invite you to join this ideation workshop to discuss a potential new ASAM project. We propose to develop a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) to demonstrate how our standards can be leveraged to enable ODD-based testing on cyber-physical testbeds. This will serve as input to the joint ASAM & IAMTS effort.
